Liposuction treatment allows patients to permanently remove excess fat in areas resistant to exercise.

Am I a good candidate for liposuction?

Any one or combination of the following conditions may indicate that you are a good candidate for liposuction surgery:

· Areas of fat deposits that are out of proportion with the rest of your body

· Areas of fat deposits that do not go away with diet and exercise – so called “diet resistant fat”

· An alternative to gastric bypass surgery (S.L.A.B.S.) for the obese patient

Liposuction may be considered to treat areas of excess fat in the stomach, hips, love handles, back, arms, neck, thighs, saddlebags, buttocks, calves, ankles, and breasts (including male breast enlargement).  Liposuction is equally effective in both men and women.

Dr. Dedo is an innovator in the field of Liposuction and has developed techniques to artistically sculpt the body into a new shape using delicate instruments.  To remove the fatty areas, Dr. Dedo uses small cannulas (straw-like tubes) connected to a large bulb-type syringe. The cannulas allow for minimal scarring, very little bruising, and a less invasive procedure. The use of local anesthesia provides numerous benefits, most important being increased safety compared to use of general anesthesia. Additionally, the patient is able change positions during the procedure to give the physician greater accuracy, more control, and clear access to the target areas of the body.

The Recovery process.

The recovery period is typically only two or three days with post procedure pain being described as feeling sore, as if they underwent a vigorous work out.  Small incisions that are required to insert the cannulas heal quickly with minimal scaring.

Liposuction for weight loss?

Liposuction is not typically the means to achieve significant weight loss as the amount of fat that can be removed during a liposuction procedure is strictly limited by law.  However, a Liposuction procedure in combination with Synergie treatments, a post procedure therapeutic massage which combines vacuum massage with applied pressure to delivers a deep massage with optimal stimulation, stretching, and pressure to subdermal tissues, can improve weight loss and the overall results from the liposuction procedure.  Dr. Dedo is the only surgeon in Palm Beach County to incorporate the unique benefits of Synergie with Liposuction to help patients achieve their desired results.

I’ve been told I am too heavy for Liposuction.

The vast majority of the heavily marketed Liposuction procedures (SmartLipo, Laser Lipo, SmartLipo Ultra, etc.) are typically limited to individuals that are less than 30 pounds overweight.  Dr. Dedo has developed techniques that are effective for individuals that are only a few pounds overweight, more than 50 pounds overweight and for obese patients as an alternative to gastric bypass surgery.

S.L.A.B.S. an alternative to gastric bypass surgery.

As an alternative to gastric bypass surgery, Dr. Dedo has developed SLABS,

Sequential Liposuction And Body Sculpting.

The most frequently performed and safe cosmetic operation in the world today is liposuction performed under local anesthesia.  For the obese patient, the safety of Liposuction is leveraged in multiple procedures to remove 4 to 6 times the amount of fat allowed during a single procedure.  Extending over 6 months or more the timing of the Liposuction procedures allow the body to naturally firm the skin.  Compared to gastric bypass surgery SLAPS patients have a very low likelihood of required additional surgeries to remove excess skin that can result from rapid and significant weight loss.

By strategically planning the timing of Liposuction procedures and the order in which specific regions of the body are treated Dr. Dedo has developed an effective and safe alternative to gastric bypass surgery.

Am I a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift?

One or more of the following feelings or conditions may indicate that you are a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift:

· you are bothered by the feeling that your butt is too small
· your butt has lost the natural roundness it had when you were younger
· your butt has over the years become “flat”
· the shape of your butt has never been what you wanted

The aging process is not always kind to the buttock, for women or men.  With years, it is common that buttocks lose fullness, firmness and shape which results in the buttocks being less perky with less volume especially in the upper quadrants.

How is a Brazilian Butt Lift performed?

A Brazilian Butt Lift is actually the transfer of fat cells from other parts of a patients’ body to the buttocks.  The patient’s fat cells are collected from selected areas of the body during traditional Liposuction.  The harvested fat is concentrated and then injected into specific areas of the buttocks. The locations of the injections are selected to produce the patient’s desired buttock shape, such as “lifted”, “fuller”, “perky” or just larger.

It all starts with an effective evaluation and consultation!

In evaluating you for a Brazilian Butt Lift, Dr. Goodman or Dr. Dedo will conduct a routine and painless examination of your body structure, the size and shape of your buttocks, the underlying muscle structure, skin thickness, texture, and skin elasticity.  Combining this information with the desired results you share with the doctor, a personalized treatment plan will be developed just for you.  They will explain the surgical techniques that they feel will produce the best results you desire, at the lowest risk.

As part of the consultation process, before and after photos will illustrate examples of actual results.  A state of the art Computer Imaging system may be used to simulate your anticipated results and to ensure clear expectations are established.  Combined with providing you ample time to discuss your thoughts, concerns and aesthetic goals, your cosmetic surgeon will develop and share with you a recommended treatment plan personalized specifically for you.  Our entire expert staff provides caring attention and genuine concern for your well-being.  We are committed to helping you make the best decisions possible.
