FACIAL PLASTIC SURGERY PROCEDURES
Facelift – A Face Lift is performed by sculpting the neck by removing fat (typically with Liposuction), tightening the platysma muscle (the muscle running from the jaw to the clavicle) and the removal of excess skin. Drs. Dedo and Lipan utilize surgical techniques produce a long lasting natural jaw line that will stand the test of time.
Neck Lift – Neck lifts and Facelifts are usually performed together. A Neck Lift is performed by sculpting the neck by removing fat (typically with Liposuction), tightening the platysma muscle (running from the jaw to the clavicle) and removing excess skin.
Eyelid Surgery (Upper) – Ptosis is a drooping or falling of the upper lid as a result of damage or failure of the tendons and/or muscles that control the upper eyelid. A relatively simple procedure to reattach this tendon can be done and if desired the process can be performed at the time as an upper eyelid blepharoplasty thereby opening up the eye and getting a more youthful appearance.
Eyelid Surgery (Lower) – A lower eyelid Blepharoplasty removes the puffiness and bags under the eyes that make you look worn and tired. By making an incision on the inside of the lower eyelid, fat, excess skin and muscle can be removed through this hidden incision safely restoring the natural contour of the lower eyelid.
Ear Pinning – Typically an incision is made behind the ear from which the structure of the ear (cartilage) can be modified and reshaped. The incisions when healed will be concealed in the natural creases of the skin and ear.
Chin Augmentation – The ideal chin projection is a chin that touches a line dropped perpendicular from the edge of the lower lip; anything less than this is considered a “weak chin”. This can be corrected by a chin augmentation procedure, improving the balance of the facial profile.
Lip Augmentation – Frequently, Dr. Dedo and Dr. Lipan will use a combination of fillers to achieve the safest and best cosmetic result. For example, Filler injected along the border of the lip will turn the edge of the lip outward giving it a beautiful pouty appearance. Filler injected in the vertical lines that radiate out from the lips can create a smooth surface. Finally, a deep chemical peel (Exoderm) can remove fine lines around the lip area almost permanently.
BODY PLASTIC SURGERY PROCEDURES
Breast Augmentation – Breast augmentation using breast implants can give a woman a more proportional shape and may improve their self-esteem. Women may choose to undergo breast augmentation surgery for a variety of reasons including changes in breast size and shape following pregnancy, weight loss, age or they feel their breasts have always been underdeveloped or unequal in size. Liposuction – To remove the fatty areas, Dr. Dedo uses small cannulas (straw-like tubes) connected to a large bulb-type syringe. The cannulas allow for minimal scarring, very little bruising, and a less invasive procedure. The use of local anesthesia provides numerous benefits, most important being increased safety compared to use of general anesthesia. Additionally, the patient is able change positions during the procedure to give the physician greater accuracy, more control, and clear access to the target areas of the body.
NASAL PLASTIC SURGERY PROCEDURES
Rhinoplasty – A rhinoplasty or “nose job” is simply altering the bony and cartilaginous framework to create a more appealing and attractive nose that fits each particular face. The surgical procedure itself is broken down into altering the cartilages of the tip area, lowering the cartilage of the septum and upper lateral cartilages and finally smoothing out irregular bone on the top of the nose and usually fracturing the nasal bone to narrow the nose.
